This book is the first in a collection of stories about two unique, brave and daring nightingales. They travel the world together, using their voices to help children. Can-do, the older brother, is a world-class songster with a powerful voice. Crash, his younger brother, is full of energy and always willing to help his brother rescue children in distress. The birds join forces with humans and birds around the world to stop bullying. Can-do and Crash are determined to help the children learn how to soar, to be strong, to be themselves, and to get help from their teachers and parents when faced with bullying. These confident, courageous, and funny birds hope to inspire children through their experiences and stories, and to show them the possibilities of a world without bullies. Read More

All children deserve exposure to a wide range of books, which include characters who are both similar and different from themselves. This type of exposure can only help to prepare children to thrive in our increasingly diverse population. My pediatric patients were inspired by the characters and the message in this book.

Parents and educators have a responsibility to expose students to diversity through a well-written selection of multifaceted children’s literature that reflect the diverse conditions of the world. As an elementary school teacher what I can tell you is that children across the world need more books like this one that mirror our population. I teach at an international school and my students loved the book!!
